i also have very dark stool and taking elevit vitamins and minerals?
im about 6 or 7 weeks pregnant and ive been taking these vitamins and minerals for my pregnancy and noticed today i had very dark stool, is this anything serious or just from what i am taking during my pregnancy.
yes well i have a feeling it is the elevit because its only happened since ive been taking them. ive had blood tests and everything after i found out i was pregnant and everything was fine so im really not too worried at all.

Now might be the time to check in with a physician, who may want to check for blood in your stool. However, iron can cause a black or dark green stool. You really need to check with your doc.
Its the vitamins. Most prenatals have a high amount of iron to help with red blood cell production. Its the iron that is making your stool look black. Unless there has been any other change in your health to make you think its due to another cause, I think its safe to chalk up to the iron.
